Sheikh Salman Tahir was born on 13 July 1999 in Haroonabad, District Bahawalnagar, Punjab. He belongs to a family associated with Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran and became connected with its activities from an early age. He received his early and matric-level education in Punjab before moving to Karachi in 2016. In 2024, he completed his graduation from Indus University, Karachi.
His participation in the movement's activities began during his early years. In 2011, he attended the International Milad Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore. On 23 December 2012, he participated in the historic public gathering held at Minar-e-Pakistan on the return of Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri to Pakistan.
In 2014, he also took part in the Inqilab March in Lahore following the Model Town incident. After moving to Karachi in 2016, he continued his involvement in organizational and religious activities and attended the major Milad Conference held at Nishtar Park, Karachi, where Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri participated and addressed the gathering in person.
His involvement later developed particularly through digital and social media activities. Representing Minhaj Youth League Karachi as a social media activist, he participated in the International Milad Conferences held at Minar-e-Pakistan in 2022 and 2024, contributing to the communication and digital coverage of the events.
His formal organizational journey began at the town level. In 2019, Sheikh Salman Tahir was appointed Deputy Convener of Minhaj Youth League Liaquatabad Town, Karachi. In 2022, he became part of the Minhaj Youth League Karachi zonal team, where he served in different responsibilities related to social media and information.
He currently serves as Secretary Social Media of Minhaj Youth League Karachi, where his work focuses on strengthening the organization's digital presence, communicating its activities and taking its dawah and youth-focused message to wider audiences through modern media platforms.
His broader interest lies in promoting religious and intellectual awareness among young people, strengthening organizational engagement and encouraging a positive social role. Through media and organizational service, he seeks to motivate young people toward knowledge, character development, constructive thinking and meaningful service to society.
